Fill up a bucket with water (NO SOAP)<\/em>, take your mop, dip it into the bucket of water, and \u2013 here\u2019s the important part \u2013 make sure you squeeze any surplus water out of it. But What About Homemade Cleaning Solutions?<\/h3>\n

Many people claim specific do-it-yourself cleaning solutions that involve a host of different easily attainable products such as white vinegar, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, liquid dish-washing soap, and even black tea bags perform well on cleaning their wood floors<\/a>. While some may swear by these methods, there\u2019s no guarantee of these methods working in the long-term. People claim they help restore the shine of a finish, but it\u2019s only short-term.<\/p>\n

The issue experts have with these simple do-it-yourself cleaning methods is that they will in fact leave a nasty \u201cdulling\u201d residue<\/strong> on your hardwood floors. Solutions with vinegar and lemon juice contain acids that may harm a floor\u2019s finish in the long-term.<\/p>\n

Better To Be Safe Than Sorry<\/h3>\n

As the saying goes, \u201cIt\u2019s better to be safe than sorry\u201d. All you have to do is ask yourself if it\u2019s worth the risk to put your trust into a hardwood floor cleaning solution that you found on the Internet.<\/p>\n
